Korean and East Asian Studies
Why Study in Seoul?
The summer Seoul program is ideal for students interested in studying the business, politics, economics, philosophy, religion and language of Korea. Korea is one of the most rapidly developing nations in East Asia. Downtown Seoul is a city of opposites bustling with palaces, city gates and temples next to government offices, embassies, theatres, shopping and more; all just a short distance from Yonsei University. Seoul is also home to many IT corporations, and is one of the most "wired" cities in the world, allowing you to appreciate the opportunities offered by the communications revolution.
The 6-week Seoul program offers courses taught in English in the areas of International Business, East Asian Studies, International Studies, Arts, Social Sciences and Korean Language. Special non-credit activities are open to summer session students, such as Calligraphy and Painting, Danso (Bamboo Flute), Korean Cooking, Poongmool (Folk Music) and more. We highly encourage you to enroll in one of these courses to enhance your cultural experience.
The Seoul program is managed by the Underwood International College, which is responsible for the overall operations of the program abroad: curriculum, securing appropriate student housing, assisting with registration, organizing exciting field trips and optional tours and overseeing your general well-being.
