The Torino program has a Resident Director who is responsible for the USAC office abroad and overall operations of the program: hiring outstanding faculty, organizing field trips and optional tours, and overseeing your general well-being. Dr. Alyssa Nota, a US native, is the Director for the four USAC Italy programs and Resident Director of the Torino program. Alyssa is a 17-year veteran of USAC and holds degrees in Italian, English, Curriculum and Instruction, including a Ph.D. from Boston College.
Eliana and Simona - Piemonte countryside field trip
The Resident Director, assisted by program coordinators Eliana Silvestro and Daniele Cataldo, meets the group flight at the airport, provides on-site orientation, takes you to your program housing, and organizes interesting field studies and optional tours. Eliana Silvestro holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and an Advanced Master’s degree in Globalization and Development from the University of Torino, and speaks Italian, English, and French; she lived for many years in Ireland. Daniele Cataldo holds a business and marketing degree from the University of Torino and speaks Italian, English, and German. Students are also assisted by Francesca Toscano. The entire staff has experience living and studying abroad, and multiple years of experience working with study abroad students in Italy. Italian undergraduate and graduate students will assist you in your language classes.
