Internships for Prague, Czech Republic
Qualified students studying for at least one semester may apply for internships designed to complement the academic program. Interns receive a maximum of three credits but no financial compensation. The schedule and number of work hours will be determined by the schedule of USAC courses. The work will be done in an English-speaking environment but some knowledge of Czech language is helpful.
Placement is not guaranteed by USAC, but determined by application to USAC and an interview with the internship sponsor once in Prague. Examples of internship placements include:
- the Fulbright Commission in Prague
- National Library archives
- Erste Bank
- HAMU-Academy of Music
- cultural centers and associations
- art agencies and/or galleries
- Institute of International Relations
- US Embassy in Prague
- international businesses and banks
- New: glass-making internship at the glassworks
Students may also come up with their own ideas and we will do our best to find the right position.
If interested, you will apply after you have been accepted into the program; consult the Internship Opportunities and Application document on Student Gateway for more information. Requirements are: minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and junior standing at time of internship. A refundable fee of $100 is charged and returned upon successful completion of the internship.
