USAC has a variety of scholarships available for USAC students. We also encourage you to research online for additional sources of financial aid and scholarships available to study abroad students. Your USAC Program Advisor maintains an updated list of available scholarships.

USAC General Scholarship for Non-Consortium Students
Offered to students who do not attend a USAC Member University. All USAC programs qualify for this scholarship.

USAC Legacy Scholarship
In celebration of USAC’s 30th year and to honor our long history in international education, new Legacy Scholarships are now available to the families—children, siblings, and spouses—of USAC alumni to attend a USAC Specialty Program. Awards will be given in the amount of $100 for winter session, $300 for summer session, and $500 for semester. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, with the final deadline being 30 days prior to departure.

Félix Menchacatorre Memorial Scholarship
Memorial scholarship available to students attending a semester program in San Sebastián or Bilbao. Award amount $500.
R.J. Simcoe Memorial Scholarship
Memorial scholarship available to UNR students attending a semester program in San Sebastián or Bilbao. Award amount $500.

Other USAC Program-Specific Scholarships
New University of Stirling Scholarship
The University of Stirling has provided scholarship funds exclusively for USAC students in 2012-13 to honor USAC’s 30th Anniversary! USAC has matched these scholarships to double the number of scholarships available. All students accepted to the Stirling, Scotland program are eligible.
Massey University Scholarship
Massey University, USAC’s longtime partner in hosting students in New Zealand, is offering $400 scholarships to help USAC students make their dreams of studying in New Zealand come true in 2012. Applicants to any of USAC’s three campus locations in New Zealand—Palmerston North, Auckland, or Wellington are eligible.
Lüneburg Work-Study Grant (Lüneburg, Germany)
Work-study grant available to students in Germany to work in the USAC Lüneburg office.
University of Oslo Scholarship (Oslo, Norway)
Available to students accepted on the USAC Oslo program with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
GBI International Conservation Scholarship - Costa Rica
Generously sponsored by the Great Basin Institute as part of their commitment to environmental research, education, and conservation, the GBI International Conservation Scholarship serves to help students study environmental- and conservation-related topics
in Costa Rica. A major or minor in science/environmental studies is preferred but not required. Once their time abroad is complete, awardees will be asked to report on their experience abroad, including the coursework, research, or volunteering they did related to environmental conservation. Award amounts $500 - $1000.

Outside Scholarships
There are numerous independent scholarships that students can use to support their study abroad. The following is a sample list.
NSEP Boren Awards
Boren Scholarships and Fellowships provide unique funding opportunities for US undergraduate and graduate students to add an important international and language component to their education, focusing on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study that are critical to US interests and underrepresented in study abroad.
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for US undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college/university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Forty-five $1,000 grants are awarded each year. Applicants are evaluated based on numerous factors, including academic recognition and awards, campus and community involvement, leadership experiences, and quality and scope of proposed program. Students do not have to be a member to apply.
Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships
The scholarship is for one regular academic year (usually nine months) of full-time study at an institution assigned by The Rotary Foundation Trustees. The scholarship provides a flat grant of $26,000. Applicants must have completed at least two years of university or college course work, or must have a secondary school education and have been employed in a recognized vocation for at least two years when the scholarship begins.
