Transcripts
Your final grades are posted to your Student Gateway Account after the conclusion of the program. Transcripts for your classes are processed and handled as outlined below. USAC recommends that you save all syllabi, reading lists, and completed projects from your time abroad as well as any course preapproval paperwork you completed prior to departure. Always check with your home university’s policies before and after participating to make sure courses will transfer.
Specialty Programs
While participating on a Specialty Program, you will be registered at a USAC Member University in the US. At the conclusion of the program, your grades will be sent to your USAC University. Students registered at a USAC university other than their own can request an official transcript to be sent to their home university.

Partnership Programs
Students participating on Partnership Program, receive grades and transcripts directly from the host university abroad and, in many cases, can stay enrolled at their home university during their time abroad. Students can then use the transcript from this recognized foreign university to transfer the credits to their home campus. Upon request and whenever possible, USAC will provide course descriptions or syllabi if your school requires this information to accept the credits from these partnership universities. We also recommend that you keep syllabi and other course materials, just in case your school needs them upon your return.
Official transcripts from the host university overseas will be automatically sent to the USAC Central Office. If you are from a USAC Member University, your transcript will be sent to your home university. If you are not from a member university, make sure USAC has transcript request instructions on file.
The grades you receive abroad will transfer back as a US letter grade (A-F). Ultimately, it is up to your home university’s registrar to determine how your grades will appear on your home university transcript and how the grades will affect your GPA. Remember that the actual grades from your studies abroad are considered when transferring to a new school or applying to graduate school.
If you need more information or your university requires a different arrangement than those listed above, please contact the USAC Enrollment Department, who will be happy to work with you and your university.
