Pau, a city of 100,000 in southwestern France adjacent to Iparralde, is a picturesque town with spectacular scenery. It is only two hours away from the Spanish border and provides easy access to the beaches of the Atlantic coast as well as the Pyrenees Mountains. Pau is well known for its beautiful parks and has more green space per inhabitant than any other European city. Pau is small enough to have everything within walking or biking distance, but large enough to have several theatres, movie houses, outdoor cafes, and fantastic shopping.
